Genesis 2: God Rested

God rested on the Seventh Day, and we can take one day in seven to rest in what Jesus has done through the Cross.

The Bible tells us that God neither slumbers nor sleeps. Resting means that He knew that creation

Jesus said from the Cross: “it is finished.” He came to undo the work of the devil, and that “finishing” is moving slowly but surely through all things. We will see its final result when Jesus returns and all that is evil and bad disappears.

² And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. ³ So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

³ He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. ⁴ Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the
beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
