#72: Treat Others Fairly - Bart's Bartering Blunder - Proverbs 20:14
Greybobby's class learns about bartering by trading their possessions. Bart brings a prized family heirloom- a cuckoo clock wristwatch- to trade, but quickly becomes discouraged when Sheila Slyfox is unimpressed. Little does he know that Sheila knows more about the wristwatch than she lets on... and plans to take it away from Bart.
Bart learns the lesson of Proverbs 20:14:
“Bad, bad,” says the buyer, but when he goes away, then he boasts.
PROVERBS 20:14
This week's devotional summary is that:
Being honest and fair in how we treat others is important to God.
Sometimes people try to get a better deal by making something seem worse than it really is, just so they can take advantage of someone else.
Jesus calls us to be different! He wants us to love others the way He loves us—with honesty, kindness, and fairness.
We can’t do that on our own, but when we follow Jesus, He changes our hearts and helps us to deal with others fairly, to honor Him and show the world what His love is like!
