The Fruit of The Spirit: JOY
Story summary
Greybobby's picnic is ruined by rampaging rodents, invading ants, thieving pigeons, and... rubber chickens? When everything seems to be going wrong, they learn what the the Fruit of the Spirit, Joy, really means.
Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
What Did We Learn?
- Even when everything seems to go wrong, true joy is still possible.
- Christian joy isn’t about perfect days or getting exactly what we want. It comes from knowing God loves us, from the laughter and friendship we share, and from seeing His goodness even in messy, unexpected moments.
- Joy is a gift from God. It comes from His Spirit and it comes from knowing that Jesus will always be enough, no matter what, and when we share it with others, it spreads His love in a way nothing else can.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of joy that doesn’t depend on perfect circumstances.
Help us to remember that Your love is always with us, even on messy, silly, or frustrating days.
Teach us to laugh, to find joy in Your goodness, and to share that joy with our friends and family.
May our hearts overflow with Your Spirit, no matter what happens around us.
In Jesus’s name we pray,
Amen.
