The Fruit of The Spirit: Patience
Story summary
Red’s worst nightmare comes true when Bart brings his cousin Bartina over from Lupovakia for show and tell. Through rubber chicken singing, annoying national anthems, and... sardine and jelly sandwiches?!— Red finds his patience being tested and has to pray for God to change his heart to see Bartina, and Bart through God’s eyes.
Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
What Did We Learn?
- Patience isn’t just about waiting or keeping calm—it’s about letting God work in our hearts and helping us see others through His eyes.
- Red discovered that even in frustrating or confusing situations, he could show compassion when he remembered what it feels like to be cared for and understood.
- God gives us the fruit of the Spirit so we can respond with love, kindness, and patience, not because we’re perfect, but because His grace is at work in us.
- When we rely on Him, even the hardest moments can become opportunities to grow and reflect His heart.
