Advent Candle Five — Christ

Story summary

Marvin the Moth returns as he searches for “The Great Light.” As he shared his travels, Greybobby and friends show him that Jesus is the Light of the World, and the Great Light Marvin has been searching for.

John 8:12

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

What Did We Learn?

  •  We learned that at Christmas there are lots of lights: bright lights, exciting lights, busy lights, and lights that promise all kinds of things... but not every light is the Great Light.
  •  Some lights flash and fade. Some lights distract us. Some lights make big promises but can’t give us rest.
  •  We learned that the true Light didn’t stay high and far away. He came close .He was born in a manger.
  •  Jesus is the Light of the world...the Light that guides us, the Light that brings real joy, the Light that never goes out.
  •  Because of Him, Christmas isn’t just something we celebrate for one night; it’s a light we carry with us wherever we go.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Jesus, the true Light, into a dark world.
Thank You that His light guides us, comforts us, and fills us with hope and joy.
Help us not to chase lights that fade, but to follow Jesus, whose light lasts forever.
Bless our families, our church, and all who hear this story with peace and joy this Christmas season.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.
