The Simple Catechism #9
What Does Every Covenant in the Bible Point To?
Every covenant in the Bible points to the New Covenant in Jesus.
Story summary
In this simple catechism lesson, Red and Bart join the superhero Wombatman on a quest to solve a series of riddles that point to the covenants in the Bible, and how they point to Jesus.
Hebrews 8:13
In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
What Did We Learn?
- Today we saw that every covenant in the Bible starting with Adam, through Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David was pointing forward to Jesus and the New Covenant.
- Jesus is the true and better fulfillment of every promise God made. He is the New Adam who brings life, the New Noah who saves, the offspring of Abraham through whom all nations are blessed, the fulfillment of the Law, and the eternal King from David’s line.
- God’s story has always been about pointing us to Him.
