The Simple Catechism #2

What Do We Call Everything That God Made?

Everything God made has a name, and that name is Creation.

Story summary

Greybobby and friends visit a toy factory and join an eccentric inventor on a journey to learn about the Days of Creation. Ultimately, they learn that everything God made has a name, and that name is Creation.

Genesis 2:3

So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

What Did We Learn?

  • Everything God made has a name, and that name is Creation.
  • Creation includes the light and the dark, the sky and the sea, the land and the plants, the sun, moon, and stars, the animals, and people too.
  • God made everything on purpose, in order, and with care, preparing spaces first, then filling them just right. Nothing was an accident, and nothing was forgotten.
  • When God rested on the seventh day, He wasn’t tired. He rested to enjoy His Creation and to show us that stopping to trust God can be just as important as working hard.
  • Creation points us back to God, the One who made everything to bring glory to His Name.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for making all things and calling them good.
Thank You for the world You created and for caring about every part of it,including us.
Help us to remember that everything comes from You, and help us to trust You enough to work and to rest.
We want our lives to bring glory to Your Name.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
