The Simple Catechism #5
How many persons are in the One True God?
Three: God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Story summary
Greybobby and friends travel to a world of numbers to solve the mystery of the Trinity. They learn that God is one God who exists as three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 13:1
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
What Did We Learn?
- God is one God who exists as three persons at the same time: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- Each person is fully God, but there is only one God.
- While we can try to imagine God with fun examples like water, eggs, clovers, masks, chords, or colored lights these are only illustrations, and no illustration is big enough to explain God.
- God is bigger than any example we can think of, and we can trust what He has told us about Himself.
- Sometimes it’s a mystery we can’t fully understand, but that’s okay. We can still trust Him, believe it, love Him, and follow Him.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for showing us that You are one God in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Help us trust what You say about Yourself, even when we can’t understand everything.
Thank You for loving us and always being with us.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.
