#5: Proverbs 3:11-12 - God’s Discipline Is A Good Thing
Story summary
In this Bible lesson, Greybobby’s skips his chores and sneaks out— only to run into the Wonderwolves. After a chase and surprise rescue from Uncle Greybilly, he learns that discipline from love, not anger, is a good thing.
Proverbs 3:11-12
My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof,
for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
What did We Learn?
- At times we don’t like it when our parents discipline us, but they do it to correct us and help us.
- When we have trusted in Jesus, God doesn’t punish us, He corrects us with discipline: like letting us get caught so we can be corrected.
- His discipline flows from His love and not His anger.
Let's Pray
Dear Lord,
Help us to be careful not to be mad when you or our parents discipline us.
Help us remember you discipline out of love and for our good.
In Jesus’ Name we pray.
Amen.
