#13: Proverbs 11:1 - Telling The Truth Is Brave
Story summary
In this Bible lesson, Red is caught between family and the truth when his cousin tries to cheat his classmates. He finally listens to Uncle Greybilly’s lessons, and learns that God delights in fairness and offers grace.
Proverbs 11:1
A false balance is an abomination to the Lord,
but a just weight is his delight.
but a just weight is his delight.
What did We Learn?
- God cares a lot about things we think are little: like dishonest scales.
- When we weigh out or judge our own hearts, we usually get it wrong. We use our own dishonest scales.
- When we look into God’s Word, it tells the truth about us. It helps us weigh our hearts correctly.
- When we feel the weight of our own sin, the Lord is there to offer us grace through faith in Jesus.
- If you feel that weight, it is something you should talk about with your mom and dad.
Let's Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to feel the weight of our own sin.
Help us to know that, when we feel that weight, we can turn to Jesus who give us grace through faith. In Jesus’ Name we pray.
Amen.
