Story summary
In this special Christmas Bible lesson, Greybobby and Betty compete against Red and Bart to find a Christmas Eve treasure. Along the way, they learn another Proverb about seeking wisdom, and discover that Jesus is the true prize.
Proverbs 8:34-36
34 Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.
35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord,
36 but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.”
35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord,
36 but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.”
What did We Learn?
- When we seek wisdom, we seek true life.
- Our hearts want what they want and seek what they want.
- The Lord has to give us the spark that lights the flame within our hearts.
Let's Pray
Dear Lord,
We can hear the story of Christmas a thousand times and it doesn’t mean much to us.
We pray that you will give us the spark that lights the flame of wisdom and truth and real faith in our lives, and if it is already there that you’d fan it into a roaring fire.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
