#22: Proverbs 16:9 - God’s plans are better

Story summary

In this Bible lesson, Greybobby, Betty, and their friends prepare for Mr. Flanagan’s St. Patrick’s Day Dance, learning about the true story of St. Patrick and his humility. Barbara Yak’s prideful plans fall apart, while Joy Jackrabbit’s kindness teaches everyone that humility and openness to God’s plans bring true happiness.

Proverbs 16:9

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

What did We Learn?

  • We learned that sometimes our plans aren’t God’s plans.
  • God has a plan for us we need to open our hearts to.
  • Sometimes God lets us fall in our pride to bring us to the plan He chose for us in the first place, a plan that humbles us and fixes our eyes on Him.

Let's Pray

Heavenly Father,
Help us to hold our plans loosely.
Help us not to be prideful and demand things go our way.
Have the mercy on us that, when we do, that you would humble us and bring us back to your plan.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

When you make a plan, like deciding what game to play or what to draw, how can you trust God to help you even if things don’t go the way you expect?
