#27: Proverbs 17:12 - Foolishness Leads to Danger

Story summary

In this Bible lesson, the kids go on the first camping trip of the season, Folly Foal steals a bear cub, teases some bees, and learns a valuable lesson about taking dares and respecting Mother Nature.

Proverbs 17:12

Let a man meet a she-bear robbed of her cubs
rather than a fool in his folly.

What did We Learn?

  • Following a fool is dangerous— more dangerous than taking a Mama Bear’s cubs away from her!
  • When we feel like we have to prove ourselves or “save face” we must remember: it doesn’t matter what everyone else thinks of us, it is more important what Jesus thinks of us.
  • Knowing we are important to Him means that we have nothing to prove, and that keeps us from following fools and keeps us seeking wisdom.

Let's Pray

Heavenly Father,
Help us to be content with what you think about us so that we don’t try to prove ourselves by following fools.
Continue to give us wisdom to know when something is foolishness and then the strength to avoid it.
In Jesus’ Name we pray.
Amen.
