#38: Proverbs 20:4 - You Reap What You Sow

Story summary

In this Bible lesson, The Camp Chuckleberry Talent Show is right around the corner, and everyone is practicing for their big performances... except for Sal the Slug.  When his act bombs, he learns a lesson from Proverbs 20:4, and how we reap what we sow.

Proverbs 20:4

The sluggard does not plow in the autumn;
    he will seek at harvest and have nothing.

What did We Learn?

  • You get out of things what you put in.
  • If you sow little you don’t get a lot, but if you sow much you reap a harvest. The same is true of kindness.
  • We need to ask Jesus to help us sow kindness into the world, because our hearts are way too good at not sowing kindness.

Let's Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to put the work into things that we need to.
Help us to sow good things to we can reap a harvest.
Help us not to be lazy in our work, or lazy in showing kindness to others.
May Jesus sow kindness into our hearts that we may sow it into the people around us.
In Jesus’ Name we pray.
Amen.
