#51: Proverbs 20:26 - God Gives Authority
Story summary
In this Bible story, there’s a thief on the loose, and Bart takes the law into his own hands. With false accusations flying, the kids learn from Proverbs 20:26 that judgment and authority belongs to God, not us.
Proverbs 20:26
A wise king winnows the wicked
and drives the wheel over them.
and drives the wheel over them.
What did We Learn?
- God gave us authorities like Kings, Judges, and Police to use their skills to find those who commit crimes and do evil.
- We need to leave the judgment in the hands of those God gave it to instead of trying to blame others when we don’t have the facts or skills or the wisdom to place the blame on anyone.
Let's Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to trust the authorities you have placed over us.
Give them the wisdom and skill to figure out who are doing bad things and to protect others from them.
Help us to know how to stay out of it and not be vigilantes in the way we try to accuse others when we don’t know all the facts.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
