Story summary
In this Bible lesson, a new gym opens in town, lead by the incredibly strong Griff Brussels. Everyone seems impressed and wants to join... except for Uncle Greybilly. When Griff challenges him to a tree chopping competition, Uncle Greybilly proves that wisdom is stronger than muscle.
Proverbs 20:29
The glory of young men is their strength,
but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.
but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.
What did We Learn?
- Sometimes we trust a little too much in our own strength.
- Just because someone doesn’t look strong, doesn’t mean they don’t have a hidden strength of their own.
- Jesus makes us strong, especially in wisdom.
- Ultimately His wisdom wins out over mere strength.
- Gave gave us older people in our lives to share the wisdom of the life lessons that brought them that gray hair, and we would be wise to listen to them.
Let's Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to trust in your wisdom over our strength, and open our ears to wise older believers who are willing to share their wisdom with us.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.
