#54: Proverbs 21:2 - The Lord Weighs the Heart
Story summary
In this Bible lesson, when Brushy’s friend, Mold-E, is spotted in the local woods, the town forms an angry mob to get rid of him. Greybobby teams up with Brushy to defend Mold-E and share the lesson of Proverbs 21:2, that the Lord looks at our hearts, not our outward appearances.
Proverbs 21:2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the heart.
but the Lord weighs the heart.
What did We Learn?
- Often times there is a way that seems right in our own heart, but it is the wrong way.
- Our judgment can be way off. Our judgment of our own actions and, like the townspeople, our judgment of others.
- We need to ask Jesus to give us wisdom to make a right judgment and in some cases, many cases, let God do the judging, because it is God who weighs the heart.
Let's Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Give us the wisdom and insight to be able to judge ourselves, a situation, and another person correctly.
In times where we can’t, help us to trust you to judge rightly because only you can weigh a heart.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.
