#46: Proverbs 20:22 - God’s Justice Is Better Than Ours
Story summary
In this Bible lesson, Red seeks revenge after Bart steals his science project. Uncle Greybilly steps in to stop him, and teaches him a lesson from Proverbs 20:22: to wait for God's justice.
Proverbs 20:22
Do not say, “I will repay evil”;
wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.
wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.
What did We Learn?
- We learned that it is really tempting to want to get back or get revenge on someone, but that isn’t our right.
- We can tell the proper authorities of course, but we need to leave the situation in God’s hands.
- It’s His choice what to do with them: whether to bring the consequences down on them, or show them grace that leads to a changed heart.
Let's Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to trust you to fight our battles, and give us the ability to pray for those who oppose us so that, like Paul, we might one day see their hearts change.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
