#83: Proverbs 22:3 - Follow The Smart Path
Story summary
Greybobby and friends discover a secret passage in their school library, and Bart quickly disappears inside. Betty tries to convince Greybobby and Red not to follow after him, insisting that they don’t know whether or not the passage is safe. As they venture deeper, they find Bart and what seems to be a comic book character come to life: the Mad Mudslinger. They learn the lesson of Proverbs 22:3, and that following Bart’s path was not prudent.
Proverbs 22:3
The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it.

What did We Learn?
- Being brave doesn’t always mean rushing into danger—it often means being wise enough to stop and think first.
- Betty remembered what happened to Tabitha Tortoise, and she knew that ignoring a sign that says “Danger” just wasn’t smart.
- While Bart, Red, and Greybobby got caught in a muddy mess, Betty stayed safe and even helped rescue her friends by asking for help.
- Wisdom doesn’t mean being scared—it means being careful and choosing the smart path, even when others want to do something risky or exciting.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for teaching us to be wise.
Help us not to rush into things just because they seem fun or exciting, but to stop, think, and choose the safe and right path.
Give us courage to speak up like Betty did, and the humility to listen when someone is trying to help.
Thank You for loving us and guiding us with Your Word.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.
