#86: Proverbs 22:28 - Remember God's Boundaries

Story summary

Greybobby and friends’ first week back at Camp Chuckleberry is interrupted when Sheila Slyfox insists that the Camp Chuckleberry basketball courts don’t belong to Camp Chuckleberry at all… but to their rival: Camp Grimbelthorn. The kids square up for a “winner-takes-all” basketball game to determine who really owns the basketball courts, and learn the lesson of Proverbs 22:28: to remember God’s boundaries.

Proverbs 22:28

Do not move the ancient landmark
that your fathers have set.

What did We Learn?

  • Some things are meant to stay put—like the truth, like God’s Word, like the boundaries He gives us to live wisely and well.
  • The Bible says, “Do not move the ancient landmark that your fathers have set,” because those landmarks remind us of what’s right, even when the world tries to change the rules.
  • Jesus doesn’t just teach us the truth—He is the truth, and He calls us to live in a way that honors what God has already said, not to twist it or move it for our own gain.
  • Whether it’s a game, a rule, or a relationship, we honor God when we choose His way, even if it’s harder or less popular.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving us Your truth and for setting good boundaries to protect and guide us.
Help us not to move or ignore what You’ve said is right, but to trust in Jesus and follow His way.
Give us courage to live by Your Word even when others don’t, and help us to remember that real victory is found in honoring You.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

Discussion Question

Can you think of time when you tried to change the rules from what you knew was right?
