Genesis 3: The Serpent

Overview

Through the Cross, Jesus has defeated Satan. When we trust in Jesus, we no longer have to fear the Serpent of death’s sting.

Key Ideas

Enmity

“Greatly dislike.” God told the Serpent that tempted Adam and Eve to sin that he would be greatly disliked.

The Devil

The Serpent was the disguise of the Enemy of Old, Satan. He tempted and tricked Adam and Eve into disobeying.

Jesus is the One

God promised to send someone to “crush the Serpent’s head.” This promise was fulfilled through Jesus.

Bible Verses

Genesis 3:15

I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring, he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.
