13 A glad heart makes a cheerful face,
but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.

Lesson Summary
- When our hearts are cheerful, we certainly wear it on our face, but when we are feeling sad people can also tell.
- We need to be willing to talk about the sadness we might be feeling with someone who can help us, because sometimes we need other people to help us figure out what's going on in our heart.
- Most importantly, we need Jesus who is the only one who can give us joy in spite of the situations we face.
- Knowing Jesus is with us and never leaves us encourages our hearts to keep going.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray that you would help us unravel the things we feel deeply.
When we are glad, help us to show it.
When we are sad, help us to talk to someone about it.
Remind us that, though it all, Jesus never leaves or forsakes us.
