The Simple Catechism #19
What Happened To Jesus After He Died?
Jesus came back to life!
Story summary
In this simple catechism lesson, Greybobby, Betty, and Bart are teleported to Jerusalem the night after Jesus was crucified. As they explore the city, they find the Disciples and answered a new catechism question: What happened to Jesus after He died?
Jesus came back to life!
Jesus came back to life!
Matthew 28:6
He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
What Did We Learn?
- After Jesus died on the cross, He did not stay in the tomb. On the third day, just as He promised, Jesus rose from the dead!
- Because Jesus rose from the dead, we know that He is the Son of God, that His promises are true, and that He has power over sin and death.
- Just as the angel said, "He is not here, for he has risen, as he said."
- Jesus is alive today, and everyone who trusts in Him can have eternal life.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.
Thank You that the story did not end at the tomb.
Thank You that Jesus rose from the dead and is alive forevermore.
Help us to trust in Him, believe His promises, and follow Him every day.
Fill our hearts with joy because Jesus has conquered sin and death.
May we share the good news of His resurrection with others so they can know Him too.
In Jesus' Name we pray,
Amen.
